BioDIMITRI ANNENKOV “The painting rises from the brush strokes as a poem rises from the words. The meaning comes later.” Joan Miro Born in Moscow, Russia in 1965, Dimitri Annenkov graduated from the Academy of Arts (former Institute of Arts after Count Stroganov) as a member of the Moscow Union of Artists. His paintings have been shown in different exhibitions and purchased by many collectors in both Russia and abroad. Annenkov’s paintings are based on the study of Photo Realism and Impressionism. Light saturates his paintings, and he constructs his compositions based on familiar objects and treasured memories in order to create a distinct patheon of references to the joy of life. He studies the contrasts and harmonies of colors and textures in a quest to achieve a balance between animate and still forms. Like Cezanne, he too is fascinated by the relationship of coloring and modeling. Searching for the right objects can be a challenge and he searches for quiet beauty in a simple setting. Annenkov has exhibited and sold his work in Russia, Europe, Scandinavia, and the United States. It is with great pleasure that Stanfield Fine Art introduces the work of this talented and emerging artist. In 1992 graduated from the Stroganov College of Applied Arts.
